Afeka continues to lead engineering education in Israel with the launch of a unique new course, Introduction to Quantum Computing for Electrical Engineers, led by Dr. Muhammad Erew.
The course introduces students to one of the most significant and rapidly developing fields in modern technology, combining concepts from quantum mechanics, computer science, and information theory.
Its main objective is to bridge the gap between theoretical foundations and the practical engineering of quantum hardware, giving students both solid conceptual understanding and exposure to the technological challenges involved in building quantum systems.
Throughout the course, students develop key skills in several areas:
- Designing and analyzing complex quantum circuits
- Understanding the principles behind quantum algorithms
- Addressing challenges related to decoherence and quantum error correction
- Exploring superconducting hardware and the quantization of electrical circuits
By combining mathematical rigor with physical intuition, the course provides Afeka graduates with valuable knowledge and skills for the evolving technology landscape. It also prepares them to take part in the development of advanced quantum systems and to pursue opportunities at leading research and development centers around the world.
