The Afeka Center for Energetic Materials (ACEM) was founded in 2021 by Dr. Yinon Yavor from the school of mechanical engineering at Afeka College of Engineering.

The center focuses on state-of-the-art research in combustion, propulsion, metal reactions, and hydrogen production. Special attention is given to studying the energetic performance of novel materials, including green fuels with low carbon footprints.

The Afeka Center for Energetic Materials (ACEM) was founded in 2021 by Dr. Yinon Yavor from the school of mechanical engineering at Afeka College of Engineering.

The center focuses on state-of-the-art research in combustion, propulsion, metal reactions, and hydrogen production. Special attention is given to studying the energetic performance of novel materials, including green fuels with low carbon footprints.

ACEM works to promote research and technology in energy-related fields, including civilian, government, and defense applications. ACEM’s scientists work in close collaboration with industry partners on multiple projects, and the center is equipped to provide professional services to both industry and academia.

Dr. Yinon Yavor

Dr. Yinon Yavor, head of the Afeka Center for Energetic Materials (ACEM), is a faculty member at Afeka College’s school of mechanical engineering, as well as a research fellow at the faculty of aerospace engineering at the Technion, where he received his PhD. At both Afeka and the Technion, Dr. Yavor has conducted and supervised numerous studies in his fields of expertise, including rocket and air-breathing propulsion, combustion of solid propellants, hydrogen production, and metal combustion, among others.
