Afeka Students Help Kiryat Gat Youth Win National Competition!
Recently, Afeka students brought hands-on “Experiencing Engineering” workshops directly to a school in Kiryat Gat, marking another "Experiencing Engineering" milestone by extending the program beyond campus borders.
Adam Ran, a mechanical engineering student, packed the robots Effi and Ephraim and traveled south. At both schools, Adam demonstrated the robots' abilities - singing, dancing, facial recognition, conversing, and more. Around 250 7th-8th grade students enjoyed the special visit and were impressed.
Later the Afeka students mentored a team of 14 Kiryat Gat students participating in the national KonGoloo competition. They assisted in the 3D printing of a prototype for a sustainable electricity-generating bike the Kirat Gat team entered into the competition, and subsequently won first place in!
This real-world impact demonstrates how fostering hands-on engineering discovery though programs such as "Experiencing Engineering" has immense value.
